Merkle (www.merkle.com), a leading technology-enabled, data-driven customer experience management (CXM) company, has appointed Kirt Morris to the new position of global chief equity officer for Merkle as well as for dentsu’s CXM line of business. Having been working as a trusted advisor on Merkle’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team, Morris has been assisting Merkle in working toward its ongoing goals of creating a more equal work environment.
“Diversity is an important part of a company’s culture, values, and business growth and I am excited to advance Merkle’s DEI focus,” said Morris. “As a long-time Merkle employee, I understand the task at hand, and I care deeply about the organization, my coworkers and our future. Now is the time to make impactful changes, and my passion for this team will shine through in this new role.”
Morris is a 12-year Merkle veteran with over two decades of experience in technology implementation and system integration. As a member of Merkle’s Data Management Group, he oversaw end-to-end delivery of CRM platforms for the company’s retail vertical. Prior to his time at Merkle, Morris held consulting positions at Capgemini and Ernst & Young.
“Kirt is a natural leader who has earned the admiration and respect of his teams and possesses all the qualities required to develop this newly created role,” said Craig Dempster, global chief executive officer of Merkle and dentsu’s CXM line of business. “Success in our mission is not achieved overnight; it is a journey that requires unwavering focus and a commitment to continued progress. It calls for designated leadership that is devoted to the effort and held accountable for its success. This leadership will be found in Kirt.”
In his new role, Morris’ immediate focus will be on the US and making meaningful impacts to the US workforce when it comes to DEI initiatives and goals, including anti-racism programs, allyship training, and greater employee diversity through proactive recruiting efforts. As global chief equity officer, Morris will work on creating short-, mid-, and long-term goals for the business, and driving meaningful organizational change. Morris will continue to work closely with the DEI team, including Michael McLaren, global CEO, B2B Group at Merkle, who is an executive leader of Merkle’s DEI team.
Morris will be reporting directly to Dempster, with a dotted line to Christena Pyle, chief equity officer for dentsu Americas.
